When will I get married? Astrology cannot name a wedding date, and no honest chart reading will. What it can show is the season when partnership questions tend to rise and settle. The clearest timing signals come from planets crossing your 7th house of partnership, your Saturn and Jupiter cycles, and Venus moving through your chart. The 2027 calendar below maps those movements month by month.
As of October 8, 2026, the planetary positions for 2027 are calculated and public. This page covers the method I use, the dates that matter, and the limits of what any chart can say about a wedding.
When will I get married, according to astrology?
Astrology answers the marriage question with windows, not a single date. A window is a stretch of weeks or months when the sky emphasizes commitment in your chart. Some windows pass with no visible event. Others line up with a proposal, a move in together, or a decision to stop waiting.
Your natal chart is a map of the sky at the moment and place you were born. A transit is a current planet’s position compared with a point in that natal chart. Marriage timing comes from reading transits against the partnership areas of your natal chart.
I treat these readings the way a forecaster treats pressure systems. A front moving in raises the odds of rain in a region. It does not tell you which street gets wet, or whether you carry an umbrella. You can read more about how I approach timing as calibration rather than fate.
The three questions I ask of any chart are simple. Which planet is touching the partnership sector now? Which life cycle is the person in, by age? And what is Venus doing this year? The sections below take each in turn.
What does the 7th house show about partnership timing?
The 7th house is the sector of the chart linked to committed one-on-one partnership, including marriage and formal contracts. It sits opposite the 1st house, which describes you. The pairing is the point: the 7th house shows what you meet in another person.
The Descendant is the sign on the cusp of the 7th house, which was the western horizon at your birth. If you were born with Pisces rising, your Descendant is Virgo. If you have Aries rising, your Descendant is Libra.
In whole sign houses, each sign occupies one full house, counted from your rising sign. This system makes timing easy to read. When a planet enters the sign on your Descendant, it enters your 7th house.
The 7th house rarely works alone in marriage timing. The 4th house of home and family often lights up when two people combine households. The 8th house of shared resources shows up when finances and property merge. The 10th house of public role can matter too, since a wedding is a public declaration.
So when I look for a marriage window, I look for activity across the 7th, then check the 4th and 8th. A single planet in one house is a hint. Several planets touching related houses in the same season is a stronger signal.
Which transits tend to coincide with marriage?
Slow planets set the season, and fast planets set the week. Jupiter and Saturn move slowly enough to define a year. Venus and Mars move quickly enough to point to specific months inside that year.
Jupiter crossing the 7th house
Jupiter is the planet traditionally linked with growth, generosity, and opportunity. Jupiter returns to its birth position every 11.9 years, so it spends about a year in each sign. When Jupiter moves through your 7th house, partnerships tend to feel larger, more visible, or more promising.
Jupiter enters Virgo on July 27, 2027, according to the computed ephemeris (you can check planetary positions in the Astrodienst ephemeris tables). For anyone with Pisces rising, that ingress places Jupiter in the 7th house. An ingress is the moment a planet enters a new sign.
Jupiter in Virgo carries a practical tone. Growth in partnership under this placement often looks like shared routines, health habits, and daily logistics, rather than grand gestures. That is still growth, and for many couples it is the kind that leads to a long-term agreement.
Saturn crossing the 7th house
Saturn is the planet linked with structure, time, and commitment. When Saturn crosses the 7th house or your Descendant, relationships tend to formalize or end. Saturn asks whether a bond will hold weight.
People often expect Saturn to block marriage. In my reading, Saturn more often clarifies it. Under Saturn, vague arrangements become harder to sustain, and that pressure can push a couple toward either a firm yes or a clean no.
Venus and Mars through the 7th house
Venus is the planet of attraction, affection, and agreement. Mars is the planet of drive, desire, and initiative. Both pass through every sign within a year or two, so their 7th house visits are short.
Mars enters Libra on July 16, 2027, and Venus enters Libra on September 15, 2027. For a person with Aries rising, both planets cross the 7th house in the second half of 2027. Mars stirs action and sometimes friction there. Venus, which follows, tends to soften and reconcile.
Eclipses and the solar return
Eclipses that fall on your 1st and 7th house axis often coincide with turning points in relationships. The full set of 2027 dates is in the guide to all five eclipses in 2027. Your yearly birthday chart can also emphasize the 7th house; the solar return chart guide explains how to read it.
How do Saturn and Jupiter cycles mark commitment years?
Age cycles are the part of marriage timing that applies to everyone, with or without a known birth time. Saturn and Jupiter return to their birth positions on predictable schedules. Those returns and their quarter points line up with familiar life stages.
The Saturn return is the period when Saturn comes back to the position it held at your birth. Saturn returns about every 29.5 years, so the first return falls between ages 27 and 30 and the second between 57 and 60. When Saturn returns to its natal position, around ages 27 to 30, many people review whether their relationships fit the adult life they want.
That review does not always produce a wedding. Some people marry during the Saturn return. Others end a long relationship that was never going to become a marriage, which clears the ground for the next one. Both are Saturn doing its work.
Saturn also squares its own natal position around ages 7, 14, 21, 36, 43, and 50. A square is a 90-degree angle between two points, read as tension that asks for adjustment. The squares around ages 21 and 36 often coincide with relationship decisions, because both sit near natural milestones.
Jupiter returns every 11.9 years, which places returns near ages 12, 24, 36, 48, and 60. The return near age 24 often brings new social circles and new people. The return near age 36 overlaps the Saturn square at the same age, so that year can carry both expansion and pressure.
Two later markers matter for second marriages. The Uranus opposition, around age 42, often coincides with a desire for more freedom or a different kind of partnership. The Chiron return, around age 50, tends to bring older wounds forward, which some people work through inside a new commitment.
| Approximate age | Cycle | Common relationship theme |
|---|---|---|
| 21 | Saturn square natal Saturn | First serious tests of commitment |
| 24 | Jupiter return | New circles, new people, wider options |
| 27 to 30 | First Saturn return | Review of whether a relationship fits adult life |
| 36 | Saturn square and Jupiter return | Pressure and opportunity in the same year |
| 42 | Uranus opposition | Desire for a freer or different partnership |
| 50 | Chiron return | Older wounds surface inside relationships |
| 57 to 60 | Second Saturn return | Late-life commitments and renewed vows |
Ages are approximate because each person’s planets sit at different degrees. A birth chart narrows the window to specific months. Without one, these ages still give a useful outline of when commitment questions tend to gather.
What are the Venus and Mars dates in 2027?
Venus and Mars change signs often, and those ingress dates mark the months when love and drive shift tone. The table lists every Venus, Mars, and Jupiter ingress computed for 2027. Read it against your own rising sign to see which house each planet enters.
Two terms help when reading the notes. A planet is in domicile when it sits in a sign it rules, where its qualities express most plainly; Venus rules Taurus and Libra. A planet is exalted in a sign where it is traditionally strong but expressed with more effort; Venus is exalted in Pisces and Mars in Capricorn.
| Date | Planet | Sign entered | Traditional tone |
|---|---|---|---|
| January 8, 2027 | Venus | Sagittarius | Open, adventurous affection |
| February 4, 2027 | Venus | Capricorn | Practical commitments, long view |
| February 22, 2027 | Mars | Leo | Bold, expressive drive |
| March 2, 2027 | Venus | Aquarius | Friendship-based bonds |
| March 27, 2027 | Venus | Pisces | Venus exalted; devoted, tender tone |
| April 21, 2027 | Venus | Aries | Venus in detriment; fast, impatient pace |
| May 15, 2027 | Venus | Taurus | Venus in domicile; steady and sensual |
| May 15, 2027 | Mars | Virgo | Careful, methodical effort |
| June 9, 2027 | Venus | Gemini | Talkative, curious affection |
| July 4, 2027 | Venus | Cancer | Home and family focus |
| July 16, 2027 | Mars | Libra | Mars in detriment; drive filtered through a partner |
| July 27, 2027 | Jupiter | Virgo | Practical growth, daily structure |
| July 28, 2027 | Venus | Leo | Celebration and visibility |
| August 21, 2027 | Venus | Virgo | Venus in fall; careful, critical eye |
| September 3, 2027 | Mars | Scorpio | Intense, private drive |
| September 15, 2027 | Venus | Libra | Venus in domicile; agreements and balance |
| October 9, 2027 | Venus | Scorpio | Venus in detriment; depth and intensity |
| October 16, 2027 | Mars | Sagittarius | Restless, expansive drive |
| November 2, 2027 | Venus | Sagittarius | Open, adventurous affection |
| November 26, 2027 | Venus | Capricorn | Practical commitments, long view |
| November 26, 2027 | Mars | Capricorn | Mars exalted; disciplined effort |
| December 20, 2027 | Venus | Aquarius | Friendship-based bonds |
A few patterns stand out. Venus spends two stretches in its own signs: Taurus from May 15 to June 9, 2027, and Libra from September 15 to October 9, 2027. Venus and Mars both enter Capricorn on November 26, 2027, and share that sign until Venus moves on December 20, 2027.
That shared Capricorn stretch is worth noting for anyone with Cancer rising, since Capricorn is their 7th house. Both the planet of affection and the planet of initiative sit in their partnership sector at the same time. It is a season that favors serious conversations about the future.
What is the best time to get married in astrology?
The best time to get married in astrology is chosen with electional methods. Electional astrology is the practice of choosing a start time based on the sky at that moment. A wedding is a start, so the chart of the ceremony becomes the chart of the marriage.
Traditional electional practice looks for a few conditions. Venus should be strong and free of harsh angles. The Moon should be growing in light, which means waxing between new and full. The planet ruling the 7th house of the wedding chart should be in good condition.
In 2027, the two Venus domicile windows are the most obvious candidates. Venus in Taurus, from May 15 to June 9, 2027, favors steadiness and comfort. Venus in Libra, from September 15 to October 9, 2027, favors agreement and fairness, which is a fitting theme for vows.
Some periods call for more care. Venus in Aries, from April 21 to May 15, 2027, and Venus in Scorpio, from October 9 to November 2, 2027, are traditional detriment placements. Venus still works there, but with more heat and less ease. Mars in Libra, from July 16 to September 3, 2027, can add friction to partnership themes.
Many couples also avoid signing contracts during Mercury retrograde, since Mercury governs paperwork and communication. You can check those periods in the Mercury retrograde station dates. A full walkthrough of choosing a ceremony time is in the electional chart timing guide.
Practical life still comes first. Venue availability, family travel, and budget will narrow your options long before astrology does. I suggest using electional timing to choose between dates you can already manage, not to override them.
Why does timing sometimes feel wrong even when the transits look right?
Transits describe pressure in a chart, not events in a life. A strong Jupiter transit to the 7th house can pass quietly if nothing in your circumstances is ready to respond. That is not a failed forecast; the weather came through, and the ground was dry.
Marriage also involves two charts. Your partner, or your future partner, has their own transits and cycles. A window that is wide open in your chart may coincide with a closed season in theirs.
Free choice matters as well. Two people under the same Saturn transit can make opposite decisions. Astrology shows the shape of the question, while you supply the answer.
Grief, recovery, and old attachments can also delay readiness. If you are still processing a past relationship, the timing patterns in what astrology shows about an ex returning may help you separate one question from another.
How should you read your own chart for marriage timing?
Reading your own marriage timing takes a birth date, a birth time, and a birth place. Without the time, you can still use the age cycles above. With it, you can find your rising sign and track planets through your 7th house.
Step 1: Find your rising sign and Descendant
Your rising sign is the sign on the eastern horizon at your birth. The sign opposite it is your Descendant and, in whole sign houses, your 7th house. Write down that sign before checking any dates.
Step 2: Check Jupiter and Saturn
Look up which sign Jupiter and Saturn occupy now and in the coming year. If either enters your 7th house sign, mark that year. The transits calculator guide shows how to compare current positions with your chart.
Step 3: Note your age cycle
Compare your current age with the life cycle table. If you are between 27 and 30, you are in the Saturn return window. If you are near 36, both Saturn and Jupiter are active in your chart.
Step 4: Mark Venus and Mars months
Use the 2027 table to find when Venus and Mars enter your 7th house sign. Those months tend to bring partnership themes forward. When a fast-moving Venus visit falls inside a slow Jupiter or Saturn year, the window narrows.
Step 5: Read the 4th and 8th houses
Check whether planets also cross your 4th house of home or your 8th house of shared resources. Moving in together and merging finances often coincide with marriage. For a deeper look at how all of this fits, see the explanation of transit chart meaning.
Here is a worked example. Someone with Pisces rising has Virgo as their 7th house. Jupiter enters Virgo on July 27, 2027, and Venus enters Virgo on August 21, 2027. For that person, late August into mid-September 2027 places both benefic planets in the partnership house at once.
If the same person is 29, they are also inside the Saturn return window. That combination, a commitment-age cycle plus Jupiter and Venus in the 7th house, is the kind of layered signal I look for. It describes a strong season for partnership questions, not a promised outcome.
What can astrology not tell you about marriage?
Astrology cannot tell you whom you will marry, whether a specific person will propose, or whether a marriage will last. No method reaches that level of certainty, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling comfort, not information. The chart describes conditions, and people make decisions inside them.
Astrology also cannot replace practical guidance. Questions about prenuptial agreements, shared property, or immigration status belong with qualified professionals. If a relationship involves fear, control, or harm, safety and support come before any transit.
What astrology can offer is orientation. It can show when a question is likely to feel urgent, when patience is more sensible than pushing, and which months carry a lighter tone for agreements. For many people, simply knowing the season reduces the sense of waiting without end.
